Kids Care Clubs of Red Hill, Stony Point, and Yancy Elementary Schools in Virginia partnered together to participate in the Relay for Life event. The group of kids made up of 45 4th and 5th graders spent 5 months fundraising and together raised over $3,500 for the American Cancer Society.
On May 26th, they spent the day walking at the event in honor of lost classmates, family members and Kids Care Clubs' own - Maureen Byrne.
They won the Power of Purple campsite competition for the creation of Planet Purple, a world where cancer doesn't exist. The kids created a purple alien, a one eyed, one-horned flying purple cancer eater, and a star of honor. They sold Purple Passion Punch and won the admiration of many for their Purple spirit!
