Kids Care Clubs
February Fun Packs

Your club can put together Kids Care Clubs February Fun Packs for kids living in shelters. Winter weather makes it difficult for kids to play outdoors. Your club can make playing indoors easier by assembling February Fun Packs. 

Materials Needed:
-Large zip-lock freezer bag
-Small package of crayons
-Pencils, pens, colored pencils
-Coloring pages
-Number or connect the dots games
-Word Searches or crossword puzzles
-Optional: pencil sharpeners

Steps Involved:

1. Ask a local family shelter if they would like to receive your February Fun Packs.
2. Download word searches, puzzles and games from the Internet. A great website is the Crayola website to download all sorts of games and coloring pages. If computers and printers are available where you meet, the kids can do this during club time.
3. Decide how you will collect your crayons, pencils and pens: through your club or asking for donations from other families in your sponsoring organization.
4. Call a meeting to assemble the “ Fun Packs.”

6. Check the Recommended Reading for Homelessness and Kindness for books to read to your club.
7. Assemble the February Fun Packs and deliver to the shelter.
