Calendar Project - Hunger Action Month

Feeding America has declared September Hunger Action Month -- A National Inititative to Engage Communites to "Give a Little, Feed A Lot" in the Effort Against Hunger in America.

 

Feeding America created a simple advocacy project for parents and their children to become Hunger Helpers by coloring a placemat and sending it to Congress via the address provided in the printout. The child can write or color why he or she thinks Congress should ensure that ALL children in America get the food they need.

Feeding America's food banks play a critical role in supporting child nutrition programs. Their priorities are:

  1. Strengthen the quality and efficiency of all child nutrition programs.
  2. Fill the gaps in food service for millions of low-income children.
  3. Offer creative ideas for new and innovate approaches to ending childhood hunger.
