MLK -- Peace Prize Necklace and Pledge for Peace

Peace Prize Necklace and Pledge for Peace

Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize has been called "the world's most prestigious prize." The Nobel Peace Prize is an international prize which is awarded annually by the Norwegian Nobel Committee according to guidelines laid down in Alfred Nobel's will.

The first prize was awarded in 1901 to Frederic Passy for his work in the international peace movement.  Since World War II, the Peace Prize has principally been awarded to honor efforts to create a more peaceful world.*
