Feed The Hungry -- Introduction

Kids Care Clubs
Feed the Hungry
Introduction

Did you know that 50 million Americans (one in seven) including 17 million children are living in food insecure households?*

Hunger is defined as the uneasy or painful sensation caused by the lack of food. Food Insecurity is lack of enough food to meet basic needs at all times due to lack of financial resources.

Food insecurity, rather than outright hunger, is the problem that many more American families are facing today. In the current economy, more middle class families are joining poor families in seeking food assistance -- and most of those families are working. But, employment is not enough to safeguard against hunger and poverty. Not all families can cover the costs of housing, medical care, child care, transportation, clothing and food with low wages.

Your club can help families in need by implementing one of the Kids Care Clubs Feed the Hungry Projects.
